AEE Truck & Trailer Repair, Inc. Truck repair, trailer repair and road calls, out of Cullman, Alabama.

Before you dial, get these ready

A good first call saves a second one. The person on the phone needs to know where the truck is, what it is, and what it is doing.

Write it down on the sheet below if you are rattled. Read it back off the page.

What dispatch will ask you

Fill these in before you call, or keep the page open while you talk.

Where you are
Road, direction of travel, nearest exit or mile marker. In a lot, the street address.
What it is
Tractor, trailer or both. Make, model and year. Unit number if you have one.
What it is doing
Warning lights, air leak, a noise, a flat, won't start. Describe it; don't diagnose it.
What you are hauling
Loaded or empty. Reefer running or not. Any placards.
A number that will pick up
Your cell, and a second one if your battery is low. Keep the phone on loud.

On the shoulder while you wait

  • Hazards on. Triangles out behind the trailer.
  • Vest on before you step out.
  • Work and wait from the side away from traffic.
  • If the truck is not a safe place to sit, get behind the guardrail.

None of that is our rule. It is how drivers get home.

Truck repair, trailer repair, road calls

Three kinds of work, one phone number. Tell us which one you need in the first sentence.

Truck repair

Tractors come into the shop at 92 Doc Clemmons Rd. On the phone, say what the truck is doing, not what you think is wrong.

"Air pressure drops after ten minutes" tells a mechanic more than "bad compressor."

Trailer repair

Say which trailer, which axle and which side. Say whether it is loaded.

If it is dropped in a lot on its landing gear, give the lot address and where it is parked in the row.

Road calls

When the truck can't come to the shop, ask about a road call. Give your direction of travel and the nearest exit or mile marker.

Stay near the phone. Dispatch may call back to confirm.
